On September 30, 2019, CYPC won the bid of 83.6% equity in Peru Luz del Sur S.A.A. ("LDS"), and completed the equity delivery on April 24, 2020. LDS is the largest power company and a public utility in Peru with considerable market influence. Mainly engaged in power distribution & sales in Lima, capital of Peru, it accounts for about 29% of the national power distribution market share. In addition to distribution and sales, LDS has been continuously expanding its power generation business. As of the end of 2025, LDS owned three types of generation assets in Peru—hydropower, wind power, and solar photovoltaic—comprising a total of six power stations with a combined installed capacity of 405 MW.
By strengthening the building of board of directors, effectively collaborating with local employees, and continuously enhancing its compliance management capabilities, LDS has ensured its own stable operation. In 2025, LDS reported revenue of CNY 9.465 billion and total profit of CNY 2.053 billion (Note: equivalent in CNY, converted from the consolidated financial data in the locally audited report, which has been disclosed on the official website of the Lima Stock Exchange). Its customer base increased to 1.38 million, serving a population of over 6 million, with annual electricity distribution reaching 10.084 TWh, further consolidating its leading position in Peru's power sector.
