Combating climate change:

CYPC, with record high clean energy power generation, has sustained the local work and life by delivering clean and efficient green power. It established Department of Environmental Protection to ensure the implementation of control measures and management programs for environmental factors. It devoted to special management of direct sewage discharge, and strengthened the construction of sewage pipeline networks and control measures in the dam area to ensure "zero discharge" of sewage.

Efficiently utilizing water resources:

CYPC has continued monitoring hydrological conditions, strengthened inflow risk identification and response, and timely released warning information regarding meteorological and hydrological risk. It has also improved hydrological and meteorological forecasting and water resources scheduling capabilities, deepened research on efficient utilization of water resources, and upgraded functions of water resources-related decision support system, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the use efficiency of water resources.

Pushing for green operation:

CYPC has continued to advance the energy-saving transformation of lighting, air conditioning and ventilation systems in all its power plants, strengthened the housekeeping management at the site during annual maintenance and overhaul, and disposed of waste at the overhaul site in a reasonable and law-abiding way. The Company has publicized the energy-saving culture by ways of special lectures, promotional video study, and promoted a green life, green travel and other environmental protection concepts. It has completed the three-year action on special rectification of hazardous waste as planned, and formed a closed loop of the whole process management encompassing source, storage and disposal. In 2022, it reported no illegal disposals and 100% compliance rate of hazardous waste, sewage and waste gas after the testing and inspection.

Conserving biological diversity:

CYPC remains committed to the biodiversity protection, including protection of aquatic organisms and terrestrial life, as well as animals and plants. It is also devoted to guarding the peace within the Yangtze River Basin. At the feasibility study stage of the pumped storage project, it considers the impact on the ecological environment around the projects. During the project implementation, it put the scope and method of construction under strict control to protect the terrestrial and aquatic ecological environment.
