From ESG to "Rural Revitalization": A Journey of Value Discovery Together with Investors —Joint Research Activities Conducted by Listed Companies Controlled by China Three Gorges Corporation
Release time:2025-12-26

Recently, three listed companies controlled by China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), namely China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. (CYPC), Hubei Energy Group Co., Ltd. (Hubei Energy), and China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd. (CTGR), jointly organized an on-site investor research activity in Yichang, Hubei Province. The activity, themed "Actively Practicing ESG Concepts to Empower Sustainable Corporate Development", attracted over 30 investors and industry analysts from home and abroad.

The research itinerary covered frontline electric power production sites such as Three Gorges Hydropower Plant and Geheyan Hydropower Plant, as well as key areas for rural revitalization including Gaoqiao Village in Changyang County and Niuzhaping Village in Dianjun District of Yichang City. These places comprehensively showcased CTG's practical achievements in the three key ESG areas of production, ecology, and people's livelihood. Among them, Niuzhaping Village in Dianjun District of Yichang City, known as the "First Village at the Dam Head", is a resettlement village for the construction of the Gezhouba Hydrocomplex Project. Under the unified deployment of CTG, CYPC adheres to the trinity of "industrial assistance, ecological co-construction, and livelihood improvement", promoting the formation of a virtuous cycle featuring enterprise development, local benefit, and ecological improvement. It has helped transform the once poverty-stricken village into a provincial-level model village and ecological village, painting a new picture of rural revitalization with the responsibility of a central enterprise.

Investors and analysts participating in the research highly praised the ESG practices of the listed companies under CTG. They expressed, "This activity demonstrated the achievements of central state-owned enterprises' listed companies in implementing ESG concepts. CYPC's assistance model in Niuzhaping Village not only solves short-term problems but also builds a sustainable long-term mechanism, which is highly replicable." Another comment noted, "The smiles on the villagers' faces and their heartfelt sense of happiness prove that sustainable development is not just about financial indicators but more about creating social value."

This activity represents an important measure for CYPC, Hubei Energy, and CTGR to proactively strengthen communication with investors and transparently convey their ESG practices and comprehensive value to the market. Looking forward, under the leadership of CTG, they will continue to focus on their main responsibilities and businesses, bravely shoulder the heavy responsibilities entrusted by the nation, integrate serving national strategies, assisting rural revitalization with in-depth ESG practices, and contribute to the high-quality development of CTG.
