Recently, the 4th Plenary Session and Working Group Meetings of the International Electrotechnical Commission / Robotics for electrical generation, transmission and distribution systems (IEC/TC129) were successfully convened, with the participation of numerous experts from member countries including China, Portugal, Peru, and the United States. Mr. LIU Haibo, President and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of CYPC, attended the meeting as Chairman of IEC/TC129 and participated in discussions on relevant topics.

Several technical standards, technical reports, and proposals currently being advanced by IEC/TC129 were deliberated and approved at the meeting. CYPC shared technical insights into the research, development, and application of the magnetic adsorption-type penstock inspection robot at the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant. It also took the lead in organizing a meeting of the Strategic Advisory Group, advancing efforts such as the scientific classification of robots in the power industry, planning for the future layout of international standards, and revising the strategic business plan, thereby clarifying the direction for the next phase of international standard development within IEC/TC129.

IEC/TC129 is a technical committee established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in February 2021, primarily responsible for developing international standards for robotics for electrical generation, transmission and distribution systems. As the host organization of the IEC/TC129 Chairman, CYPC has been deeply engaging in various activities of IEC/TC129, efficiently facilitating multiple international standards and technical reports, and has officially released the first international standard for power industry robots, among other achievements. Furthermore, through Luz del Sur S.A.A. (LDS) in Peru, it has promoted Peru's national participation in IEC/TC129 international standardization efforts. In 2025, IEC/TC129 welcomed two new member countries, Peru and India, and saw the registration of 12 new experts, continuously expanding its expert pool and enhancing international participation.

Over the years, CYPC has made multiple appearances on the international stage, actively sharing "CTG Standard" and "CYPC Solutions", and continuously solidifying its position as a global leader in the hydropower industry. Looking ahead, CYPC will continue to leverage its professional strengths, actively promote the international standardization efforts of IEC/TC129, facilitate the transformation of more Chinese hydropower technological achievements into international standards, and contribute CYPC's strength to the international market expansion, brand building, and influence enhancement of Chinese hydropower technologies.
