The World's Largest Clean Energy Corridor Achieves First Full-Capacity Operation in 2025 with Power Generation Over 1.4 TWh Daily
Release time:2025-09-11

At 18:45 on September 9, all 110 generating units of the world's largest clean energy corridor operated at full capacity, with total output exceeding 70 GW. On September 8, its daily power generation surpassed 1.4 TWh, continuously supplying green energy to power distribution areas.

During peak summer consumption period, CYPC balanced multiple needs such as flood control, drought relief, and energy supply security under the coordinated guidance and support of superior dispatching agencies including CWRC of the Ministry of Water Resources, State Grid, and China Southern Power Grid. The company implemented integrated prevention and control of drought and flood, scientific operation of cascade reservoirs, thorough and meticulous enforcement of power supply measures to maximize power generation output.

In 2025, this green corridor recorded 67 days with daily power generation exceeding 1 TWh. At 17:00 on September 8, all 110 units achieved their first simultaneous full-open operation of the year. By 06:45 on September 9, TGHPP reached an output of 22.5 GW, marking its first full-capacity operation this year. That evening, the world's largest clean energy corridor operated at its maximum capacity, fully demonstrating key national assets' role as a "ballast stone" and "pillar" for energy supply security. This vividly showcases the effectiveness of China's joint operation and lean O&M of large hydropower clusters.
