CYPC Participates in the 44th Executive Committee Meeting of IEA Hydro

From April 29th to May 3rd, 2024, the 44th Executive Committee Meeting of IEA Hydro was held in Sion, Switzerland. More than 20 experts and delegates from China, the United States, Norway, Australia, Switzerland, the European Union, Japan, and other countries and organizations attended the meeting. CYPC, as a member of the Executive Committee of IEA Hydro representing China, participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, participants were briefed on the work of the Executive Committee, discussed and deliberated forthcoming major tasks and meeting schedules. CYPC reported on the latest progress and plans regarding Project 18, Decision Support for Comprehensive Utilization of Basin Water Resources, through which it showcased innovative technologies in efficient water resource utilization and cascade hydropower plant management. Additionally, experts present were invited to collaborate on the preparation of the project report, so as to enhance international cooperation and knowledge exchange.

During the meeting, CYPC was invited to participate in the thematic forum for "Challenges Faced by Hydropower in the Future", jointly organized by IEA Hydro, Swiss Federal Office of Energy, and ETH Zurich, among other research institutions, and delivered a keynote speech. Besides, CYPC also participated in international seminars on topics such as "Hydropower Service Assessment," "Hidden Hydropower," and "Hydropower and Fish" organized by IEA Hydro, which provided CYPC with an opportunity to learn and share advanced experiences and practices and reinforce the company's brand image as a world-class clean energy corporation.

IEA Hydro is a working group organized to advance the sustainable development of hydropower worldwide. It functions as a platform for the International Energy Agency to advance cooperative R&D, demonstration, deployment, and sharing of global hydropower energy systems. Since joining IEA Hydro in 2015, CYPC has successively undertaken research tasks for Project 14 Cascade Reservoir Management Model and Project 18 Decision Support for the Comprehensive Utilization of Basin Water Resources. Project 14 was successfully completed in 2021, and Project 18 is underway in order.
