On April 23, 2024, China Yangtze Power International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. (CYPI) held the opening ceremony for China-Peru Cultural Month, which was themed on "Experience Chinese Culture at CTG", in Lima, Peru.
The launching ceremony
Over 200 guests, including Zhao Xiaoming, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Peru, leaders from the Association of Chinese Companies in Peru, representatives of Chinese companies in Peru, families from local communities, and LDS employees and their family members, attended the event.
At the opening ceremony, teachers from the Confucius Institute of Pontifical Catholic University of Peru shared with the guests detailed knowledge about the history, source, and classification of Chinese tea. The guests experienced the tea-brewing process, sipped fragrant Chinese tea with endless aftertastes, and savored a variety of Chinese dim sums, through which they perceived in person the connotation of Chinese tea culture. Moreover, CYPI employees introduced to the guests the culture and craftsmanship of ancient Chinese porcelain, creating pleasant ambient for the tea party.
Tea art explanation
During the event, teachers and students from the Confucius Institute of Ricardo Palma University performed Chinese dance, KungFu, and songs. César Peredo Musical, a famous band in Peru, played wonderful jazz music. All together, the art performances showcased the distinctive and fascinating culture of China and Peru, adding more highlights to the event.
Communication and interaction
All guests present stated that this event helped them to probe deeper into the unique charm of Chinese culture and that they look forward to taking part in more China-Peru cultural exchange events in the future.
