On December 19, 2023, the Second Peru China Three Gorges Corporation Scholarship Awarding Ceremony was successfully held at the auditorium of the Ricardo Palma University. Félix Romero, Vice President of Ricardo Palma University, Qu Weihua, Vice President of CYPC International and Vice Chairman of Luz del Sur, Mario Gonzales, General Manager of Luz del Sur, as well as representatives from China Three Gorges Corporation in Peru attended the event. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Zhang Huizhen, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the Ricardo Palma University.

Qu Weihua congratulated the scholarship recipients . He hoped that the scholarship recipients would pay attention to the development of the China Three Gorges Corporation in Peru, and contribute to promoting friendship between China and Peru. Félix Romero expressed gratitude to the China Three Gorges Corporation for its support in Peru’s education and stated that they would continue to promote the exchange and development of China-Peru relations through the Confucius Institute.

A total of 12 students were awarded scholarships, and representatives of the scholarship recipients shared their experiences . Representatives from the China Three Gorges Corporation in Peru and Luz del Sur presented awards and distributed commemorative items to the scholarship recipients.

Established by CYPC, a subsidiary of the China Three Gorges Corporation, the scholarship has been presented for two consecutive years. It is mainly for outstanding students at the Ricardo Palma University in Peru, and the aim is to promote cooperation between the China Three Gorges Corporation and Peru in the field of youth education and training. The goal is to cultivate more outstanding students in Peru who will become pillars of the nation and ambassadors of China-Peru friendship, and contribute to future collaboration in culture, education, trade, and various other areas between the two countries.
