Recently, the annual maintenance and overhaul of six cascade hydropower plants operated by CYPC has been fully rolled out.

In this round of annual maintenance and overhaul, the OMF undertook 69 maintenance items, including Level-A/B maintenance of 10 units in the basin, overhaul of 10 main transformers (including reactors), overhaul of 6 switches and overall maintenance of 23 hydraulic metal structures, totaling over 170,000 maintenance working days. In addition, the OMF will encounter many pioneering maintenance items during the maintenance period. How to achieve the goal of "100% high-quality unit rate" after maintenance is a question that the OMF must answer.

The OMF organized special seminars and research meetings to grasp the key issues and determine response measures in advance. Specifically, 33 annual maintenance working groups and 32 innovation task forces have been established based on the key and difficult items of the annual maintenance and overhaul. The annual maintenance labor competition, youth innovation and effectiveness competition and special publicity competition for annual maintenance are organized throughout the annual maintenance and overhaul process. This is aimed to foster closer collaboration between the upstream and downstream chains of the working groups, increase vitality, enhance the cohesion and drive all employees to participate in the vigorous practice of annual maintenance and overhaul.

"Before the start of annual maintenance, we had already prepared 5 technical documents such as construction plans, refined 121 SOPs, made more than 20 special tools and collected installation data and typical defects of Unit 18. We have also organized divisions to carry out table-top exercises of maintenance procedures and schedule," the newly appointed young backbone GONG Haipeng said with full confidence faced with the first Level-A maintenance unit of the Three Gorges Hydropower Plant in this round of annual maintenance and overhaul.

According to statistics, the OMF has prepared and reviewed a total of 216 technical documents before this round of annual maintenance, optimized and improved 58 standard operating procedures, and coordinated systematic project management from the big picture of scientific and technological innovation. The OMF has also made full use of the annual maintenance window period to promote the building of the high-standard staff team, intelligent control of maintenance equipment and tools, and high-level implementation of innovative projects, thus empowering the high-quality maintenance and overhaul in the river basin.

From October 15 to October 25, the OMF completed the lifting-out of the upper bracket and rotor of two Level-A maintenance units, i.e. Unit 18 of the Three Gorges HPP and Unit 16 of the Xiluodu HPP, achieving the fastest speed of "lifting rotor within 10 days of commencement" with a striving attitude.

On October 27, good news of "two lifts a day" came. The lower brackets of Unit 18 at the Three Gorges HPP and Unit 16 at the Xiluodu HPP were successfully lifted out.

The OMF will continue to implement the cultural achievements of "Aiming high for Brilliant Results", continuously inject "cultural power" into the annual maintenance according to the new situations and tasks of the new round of annual maintenance, and ensure the realization of 100% high-quality unit rate after maintenance.
