Recently, affected by the continuous heavy rainfall process in the Yangtze River basin, the reservoir inflow of the Three Gorges Reservoir increased. At 14:00 on September 23, the Three Gorges Reservoir witnessed a peak flood of 34,000 cubic meters per second. Under the guidance of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission, State Grid and other superior authorities,, CYPC earnestly implemented various measures such as flood control and power supply guarantee for the 19th Asian Games, strictly executed dispatching instructions, and gradually increases the outflow of Three Gorges Reservoir under the premise of ensuring flood control safety in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. As a result, it achieved the first full capacity operation in 2023, thus playing a big role in ensuring energy supply. Besides, during this period, complex buildings such as the Three Gorges Dam and Three Gorges ship locks functions safely and stably.

CYPC will closely track the inflow of water from the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the electricity demands of power distribution areas, strengthen the prediction and forecast of water and rainfall regimes in the basin, optimize the operation of Three Gorges Reservoir, and deliver a better performance in key tasks such as flood control, energy supply guarantee and annual water storage, so as to ensure that the Three Gorges Project will continue to generate huge comprehensive benefits.
