AESIEAP Technical Committee Fourth Plenary Meeting in 2023 Opens Successfully

On September 5th to 6th, 2023, the Fourth Plenary Meeting of Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific (hereinafter referred to as AESIEAP) Technical Committee was successfully held in Tagaytay, Philippines. Over 100 representatives from more than 25 member organizations of seven countries and regions, including Philippines and China, attended the conference. Mr. RAN Yichuan, Vice President of CYPC, attended the meeting.

The meeting was divided into a plenary session and group discussion sessions. CYPC, as the chairman organization of the Second Working Group (referred to as "WG2") on Sustainable Power Generation for this AESIEAP Technical Committee, took responsibility for coordinating and organizing the work of WG2, and also chaired the group discussion sessions. Members from China, Thailand, Philippines, and Malaysia engaged in discussions within WG2 regarding the final report titled "Energy Transition under Climate Change Scenarios." They discussed topics including the impact of fossil fuel assets in the Asia-Pacific countries, policies related to new technologies for power generation with renewable and sustainable energy, researches on the complementary energy structure of "hydropower-wind-solar" and related technologies, and how hydrogen economy can support decarbonization. During the process, participants shared their respective national cases and policy references on these subjects.

Since 2022, CYPC has actively participated in the activities of AESIEAP Technical Committee. Adhering to the open and inclusive attitude, CYPC have fostered close technical exchange and cooperation relationship with member countries, and have also been proactive in learning from and incorporating valuable experiences from them. At the same time, CYPC have been actively showcasing the achievements of CTG in the field of clean energy to international industry professionals, jointly discussing pathways to address the global energy transition challenges, striving to make a greater contribution to building a clean, low-carbon, and sustainable future.
