On February 28, Ma Zhenbo, General Manager Assistant of China Three Gorges Corporation and Deputy Chairman of CYPC, and Wang Jun, Chairman of Dongfang Electric, had an informal discussion on comprehensively deepening strategic cooperation and leading scientific and technological innovation in hydropower in Wuhan.

Wang Jun said that as the leader of the world's hydropower industry, CYPC has long given strong support and assistance to Dongfang Electric, and the two sides have maintained a good cooperative relationship in the development of large hydropower units, maintenance and upgrading of key equipment, etc. In the future, Dongfang Electric will continue to make efforts in the general utilization of special materials and the localization of imported materials based on the development needs of CYPC, fully guarantee the supply chain security of major national hydropower projects, strengthen scientific research and tackle the key research project, carry out technical reserves, actively participate in the major technical transformation of CYPC Power Station, and improve the efficiency and reliability of the units in service.

Ma Zhenbo pointed out that Dongfang Electric is the world's leading energy equipment manufacturer and an important strategic partner of CYPC. Over the past few decades, the two sides have carried out fruitful cooperation around major national projects and achieved mutual benefit and win-win results. Guided by the national goal of "peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality", and in the context of building a new power system, the two sides have broad prospects for cooperation in the adaptability improvement of conventional hydropower, the development of new pumped storage power stations, the construction of smart power stations and digital transformation, etc. It is hoped that the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation, carry out innovative research based on the deployment of major projects and hydropower, and sincerely cooperate to jointly lead the development of the hydropower industry.
