On February 13, Xie Jun, CYPC's Vice General Manager and Chairman of Three Gorges Power, and Wang Tianyou, Vice President of Tianjin University and President of Office of Science and Technology, Tianjin University, had a discussion and exchange in Wuhan. The both sides had an in-depth discussion on the deep cooperation of industry, university, and research, establishment of new power system, construction of zero-carbon campus, development of energy storage technology, and building of school-enterprise cooperation mode. Wang Chengshan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Deputy Director of the Construction Management Committee of National Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration of Energy Storage Technology, attended the discussion.

Wang Tianyou pointed out that as a pioneer of green and low-carbon development in China, CYPC has achieved high-quality development achievements in clean energy, smart comprehensive energy, and other fields. Tianjin University will, focusing on the new needs of CYPC's development, give full play to the university's advantages in talent team, scientific research, and other aspects, and deepen cooperation with CYPC in energy storage technology, project breakthrough, commercialization of achievement, and other fields to jointly set a new benchmark for school-enterprise cooperation.

Xie Jun said that Tianjin University had a strong comprehensive discipline layout, always focused on the major strategic needs of China, and had made fruitful achievements in talent training, scientific research, and other fields, and there were broad prospects for cooperation between the two sides. He hoped that the both sides could leverage their respective strengths, jointly explored diversified cooperation models in such fields as smart integrated energy digitalization, energy storage technology, smart dam management, and artificial intelligence and set up a number of benchmark demonstrative projects in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to achieve win-win results and mutual development.

After the discussion, Three Gorges Power, CYPC's subsidiary, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with National Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration of Energy Storage Technology of Tianjin University. Related responsible persons from Tianjin University, National Innovation Platform for Industry-Education Integration of Energy Storage Technology, APEC Sustainable Energy Center, CYPC, and Three Gorges Power attended the discussion.
