On January 19, the CYPC Work Conference 2023 and the Fifth Meeting of the Third Workers' Congress were held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. LEI Mingshan, Board Chairman of CTG and CYPC, and ZHANG Dingming, Executive Vice President attended the meeting and delivered speeches. 

At the meeting, the guidelines of CTG Working Conference 2023 were communicated, the achievements and experience of CYPC on reforming, development and party building in 2022 were summarized, and the priorities in 2023 were announced. 

LEI Mingshan pointed out that confronting with the extreme small inflow of the Yangtze River and other adverse factors, staff of CYPC conscientiously implemented the work arrangement of CTG leading group, bore in mind the country's most fundamental interests, shouldered the major political responsibilities of guaranteeing electricity, water and livelihood, and operated the world's largest clean energy corridor with lean management to give full play to the comprehensive benefits of the Pillars of a Great Power. Never surrendering to adversity but working hard and carrying out reform persistently, we have gained excellent achievements in consolidating large-scale hydropower projects at a high level and expanding new space with high quality and contributed to CTG's two-pronged strategy where clean energy development and environmental protection of the Yangtze River go hand in hand. 

LEI Mingshan underlined that 2023 is a crucial year for continuing to implement the 14th Five-Year Plan and marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of CTG as well as the 20th anniversary of the listing of CYPC. Therefore, the proper work arrangement of 2023 is of great significance. To this end, it requires us to accurately assess the current situation and tasks, continue to bear the missions and responsibilities assigned by CTG, further consolidate the fundamentals of large-scale hydropower, give full play to our advantages and embark on a new journey with renewed commitments. Forging ahead on such a new journey, we must bear new responsibilities, take new steps and achieve new goals, so as to contribute more to building CTG into a world-class transnational clean energy group. 

LEI Mingshan put forward several requirements for CYPC to execute the work in 2023: First, set good examples in stabilizing growth by giving full play to the roles as "pacesetter" and "ballast stone". Second, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground by accelerating the expansion of new business areas and business models. Third, play an exemplary and leading role in pursuing scientific and technological self-reliance and digital transformation. Fourth, forge ahead vigorously by going all out to develop integrated smart energy and pumped storage. Fifth, enlarge the main functions continuously by giving full play to core capabilities and talent advantages so as to contribute more to CTG's reform and development.
