On May 16, upon the completion of the trial operation period, CYPC officially took over Unit 3 at the Tiantai Pumped-Storage Power Station in Zhejiang Province. This marks CYPC's second highly efficient takeover, following the successful handover of the station's first two units in January 2026, representing the final sprint toward the station's full commercial operation.
Located in Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province, the Tiantai Pumped-Storage Power Station is a key "14th Five-Year Plan" project under the Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Pumped Storage (2021-2035). The station is equipped with four 425-MW reversible pump-turbine motor-generator units, ranking first in single-unit capacity among pumped-storage plants in China. With a total installed capacity of 1.7 GW, the facility is expected to generate approximately 1.7 TWh of electricity annually. Confronted with technical challenges such as the massive single-unit capacity and high operating head, CYPC adhered to the philosophy of "Combining Construction with Management for Seamless Handover". Besides, CYPC deeply engaged in the entire lifecycle including design liaison, factory acceptance testing of equipment, on-site construction coordination, and unit commissioning, and actively collaborated with participating entities to overcome technical bottlenecks one by one.
In March 2026, following the installation, Unit 3 of the Tiantai Pumped-Storage Power Station officially entered the commissioning phase. Drawing heavily on the successful commissioning experiences and practical outcomes of Units 1 and 2 of the station, CYPC fully participated in every phase of the process with a meticulous work style and precise, reliable expertise. Completing all commissioning tasks in just 34 days, the Company fully safeguarded the smooth operation of Unit 3.
Moving forward, CYPC will continue to embrace the cultural philosophy of "Pursuing Perfection, Taking Responsibility and Accountability". The Company will meticulously organize the operation and management of the commissioned units while actively advancing the preparation for the handover and power generation of Unit 4. By consistently leveraging its competitive edge in the operation and maintenance (O&M) of large-scale hydropower, CYPC will expertly manage the Tiantai Pumped-Storage Power Station, continuously contributing the "CTG Strength" to the development of a new power system and the advancement of the green energy transition.
